Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to information when you use Solancr. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, use the contact page and we will clarify.

Summary

The short version: anything you type into a Solancr form stays on your device. QR codes are generated locally in your browser using JavaScript. There is no backend that receives your inputs, no account system, and no profile built about you.

Information We Do Not Collect

Solancr does not collect the following:

URLs, text, phone numbers, email addresses, WiFi passwords, or vCard details you enter into any form.
Names, email addresses, or phone numbers for account creation, because there are no accounts.
Payment information, because the tool is free and there is nothing to purchase.
Your precise location.
Contacts, camera roll, or files stored on your device.

Information That Is Processed Locally

When you use a QR generator page, the JavaScript on the page reads the values in the form fields and encodes them into a QR pattern in your browser. This processing happens entirely on your device. Nothing is transmitted to a server for this step.

The QR image you download is created from a canvas element in your browser. It is saved directly to your device's download folder by your browser, not by Solancr.

Server Logs

Like most websites, Solancr is served by a hosting provider. The hosting provider may keep standard access logs that include IP addresses, browser user agent strings, request timestamps, and the pages requested. These logs are used for security monitoring and reliability, are retained for a short period, and are not linked to anything you typed into a form. Solancr does not use these logs to build profiles or identify individuals.

Cookies and Local Storage

Solancr does not use tracking cookies. It does not use advertising cookies. It does not run third-party analytics scripts that set cookies on your device.

Solancr does use your browser's storage mechanisms for two purposes:

Service worker cache: core files such as CSS, JavaScript, and icons are stored locally so the site loads quickly on repeat visits and works offline. This cache contains only site files, not your inputs.
Web app manifest: if you add Solancr to your home screen, the browser stores a small icon and name for that shortcut.

You can clear these at any time from your browser settings. Doing so does not affect any QR code you have already downloaded.

Third-Party Services

Solancr does not embed third-party tracking, advertising, or social plugins. The site loads its own CSS, JavaScript, and icons from the same domain.

If you reach Solancr through a search engine or a link, the referring service may set its own cookies on your device. Those cookies are governed by that service's privacy policy, not by Solancr.

Downloads and Files

When you click a download button, the file is generated in your browser and saved by your browser to your device. Solancr does not see, store, or transmit the file. There is no cloud copy.

Children's Privacy

Solancr is a general-purpose tool suitable for all ages. Because it does not collect personal information, it does not knowingly or unknowingly store data about children. If a school or parent has a specific concern, contact the site through the contact page.

Your Rights

Because Solancr does not collect personal data tied to you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you believe a hosting log contains information about you and you want it removed, you can request that through the contact page. Requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and within the limits of what the hosting provider retains.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. All code is loaded from the same origin. There is no login system, no database of user content, and no user-generated content stored on the server. This greatly reduces the surface area for data breaches because there is very little data to breach.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Because there is no account system, there is no email list to notify. Checking this page occasionally is the way to stay informed.
